Movida Group (a joint venture between Softbank BB and broadband entertainment company Asian Groove) has invested $7.7 million in Sulake, a Finland-based online community which runs the popular role playing service Habbo Hotel. Sulake is focused on online communities and casual multiplayer games. The Habbo brand is currently being extended to mobile games and content too.
The investment will be used to help Sulake’s rollout of Habbo Mobile and also expand services in Japan and the rest of Asia.
