An interesting launch to keep an eye on: Townhall.com was relaunched on July 4, as a mix of conservative talk radio audio content with news and opinion as well as blogging, social networking and political action tools. The site was bought out by Salem Communications, a Christian/faith based media company, in April this year.
Newsweek: The hope? That “Web 2.0″ wherewithal can transform what was once an op-ed clearinghouse into a single nerve center serving the separate conservative communities of talk radio and the Internet.
Clickz: “Talk radio is the sleeping giant of the online world. If the new Townhall is successful in bridging the gap between talk radio and the blogosphere, it will be something very big and very significant to conservatives everywhere,” suggested Republican National Committee eCampaign Director Patrick Ruffini.
