The Economic Times: Here are a few survey findings about the behaviour of internet users in India. About 86% of the 25 million odd internet users (some say it’s 40 million internet users) in India regularly check out blogs (second only to e-mailing). [Now my question is shouldn’t advertisers seriously look at blogs for pushing their products?]
The other key finding is the internet is not just an upper class, urban phenomenon. Nearly 59 per cent users come from the middle-to-low income group (essentially socio-economic class B&C) and about half of the users reside outside the top eight cities (What does that mean? Internet can also be used for rural marketing!).
The next is that almost 41 per cent of online users prefer an Indian language web site, and those who want Hindi is 17 per cent (not surprising, North of Vindhyas everybody speaks Hindi). More here.
