Here’s an interesting article about TV stations offering content over the internet and mobile phones that they wouldn’t be allowed to show on TV in a bid to attract the younger and edgier audiences. “Ten is hoping to push more of its content on to the internet and mobile phones to better exploit its position as the No.1 network for viewers in the 16 to 39 age bracket. The move towards digital content comes on the back of Big Brother’s online success.”
The station is currently receiving criticism for something that occured on its Big Brother show (involving someone’s genitalia and someone else’s face) that resulted in two housemates being evicted and the Prime Minister of Australia suggestion Ten should make this year’s Big Brother the last one. That all happened on the live video stream at 4am, and the controversy has probably raised a lot more interest in the show…
