An IDC survey says that the growth of value added services or mobile content and applications in India are not as desired. According to IDC’s India Mobile Usage and Satisfaction Survey, 2006, VAS are “not growing at the projected growth rates”. Apparently, “the only area seeing growth in VAS usage is in category B circles (smaller cities and towns) where users have taken heavily to downloading games (32% against the previous year’s 11%), call forwarding (32% against the previous year’s 7%) and information services (23% against the previous year’s 4%)”. The details of this finding are not available with us, however. [Via Voice & Data and TMCnet]
