Indiantelevision.com: Here is another policy muddle in the offing unless treaded carefully. The Indian telecom regulator TRAI‘s recommendations to keep IPTV away from the ambit of the Broadcast Bill have met with opposition from a majority of the broadcast operators. They said that separating IPTV from cable service may “create more problems” in an already troubled industry.
“IPTV is similar to cable services in terms of content and mode of delivery. It would be appropriate to categorize it as a cable service rather than a telecom service under (the) Telegraph Act,-
