So reports the latest issue of the “Mobile Media” newsletter from Informa: Infospace Mobile has canned its Hotties social-networking community before it even launched commercially, after discovering that many of its users were posting adult content. The app was a “Hot or Not” knockoff in some aspects.
“As a company, our moral compass is set to north. We’re not going south,” said Steve Elfman, executive VP of technology and operations.
Andy Riedel, Infospace’s VP of social networking, games and entertainment – and the driving force behind Hotties – has left the company since the March beta trial, the story says.
