Broadband Content Bits: MTV on iTunes; Fox, Warner on Peer Impact; Warner on Guba

Fox, WaBo on Peer Impact: Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. will make select movies and TV shows available for download through Peer Impact, the P2P service from Wurld Media. TV shows including The Loop, Firefly, The Dukes of Hazzard and Babylon Five will be available on a rental basis for fees starting at 99 cents per episode, which entitles a consumer to a full 24-hour viewing period. It already offers movie and TV content from NBC Universal along with an assortment of music from both major and independent labels.
MTV on iTunes: MTV Networks might be backing a musical rival to iTunes, but that’s not stopping it from expanding its offerings of TV shows on iTunes…”Viva la Bam,” “Disorderly Conduct,” “Sit-Down Comedy with David Steinberg” and several others from MTV are on iTunes now.
Warner Offers TV, Films Through Guba: Warner Bros. has struck a deal with video sharing site Guba to distribute feature films and TV shows over the Internet. Films could be rented for $1.79 per day, or purchased for $9.99 for older titles, and $19.99 for newer releases. New releases would be made available on Guba on the same day as they are released in stores.
