Maybe the reason Toshiba is having a huge notebook sale is due to new models coming out, which is fine by me. This morning Toshiba announced the Satellite R25-S3503 convertible Tablet PC weighing in at a rather large 5.95 pounds. There is a currently a preconfigured model is on Toshiba’s product page priced at $1,349, but the specs don’t exactly match the press release, which often happens during a product refresh. Here are the specs from the PR:
- 14.1-inch screen with 1440 x 900 resolution
- Intel Core Duo Processor T2050 running at 1.6 GHz
- 100GB high-capacity 5400 rpm Serial-ATA (SATA) hard drive
- DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats
- 1 GB of memory, expandable up to 4 GB
- Intel PRO/Wireless(6) Network Connection 3945ABG
- 6-cell (4700mAh) Lithium Ion battery
This is a bit hefty of a Tablet, especially for the targeted audience: students and small businesses. I’d like to see the StudentTabletPC folks "weigh" on on this one…
