TMCnet.com: Korea’s SK Telecom is looking at expanding to other Asian countries, and India could be one of the high growth markets the telco is targeting. “In 2006, we will continue to seek global business opportunities in an active but deliberate manner, focussing on other Asian countries which are close to us culturally as well as geographically,” Kyu Kwan Lim, vice-president (enterprise solution business) said. He didn’t talk about any country-specific plans. “Be it India or Europe, we are open and active about globalisation” he said.
It may be recalled that SK Telecom was reportedly in talks with Tata Teleservices mid-last year for a stake in the company. This however did not materialise in any deal.
