According to John Lillistone, Vodafone UK’s head of enterprise data, “Vodafone has never charged or disconnected a customer for going over their mobile data usage limit”…although, later it does say that one corporate users was encouraged to go to the 20Gb plan (the normal unlimited data limit is 1Gb, although Vodafone is looking to increase this to 5Gb for its 3G network). The “fair use” clause is in there as a safety net, or possibly a deterrent. Whether or not it will become a problem depends on what telcos consider fair use, although there’s a fairly strong argument that if a data plan isn’t unlimited it should not be advertised as such.
