A Spate Of FDI Proposals In Print Media


Business Standard: Here are a spate of foreign direct investment proposals in media being cleared and and also under consideration by the government. India’s information and broadcasting ministry has so far this year cleared 13 FDI proposals, while another 22 are under consideration. There are eight in the news and current affairs media which include Mid-Day Multimedia, Business India Publications and Deccan Chronicle Holdings. Financial Times (India) Pvt Ltd has also submitted a proposal for coming out with its newspapers and periodicals. There is a cap of 26 per cent FDI in news and current affairs segment, besides other riders.
