Softbank to Link Internet To Cellphones Via Yahoo

Softbank Chief Executive Masayoshi Son has revealed some of its plans for the mobile company it recently bought from Vodafone…”Users are not satisfied with the small, limited content of current DoCoMo, i-mode or au EZweb services,” said Mr. Son. “I want to bring the broad world of the Internet, with Yahoo as the center, to the mobile world.”
He apparently “unveiled plans to make a full browser that can display Internet Web sites as they are shown on PCs standard for mobile phones offered by Softbank”. which obviously wouldn’t work because the mobile screen is too small. It probably means that web pages will be reformated to fit on the mobile screen rather than the company concentrating on a different content service.
