Just noticed something interesting about the World Cup photos up on Reuters, they’re all labelled “FIFA RESTRICTION – NO MOBILE USE”. Which is another indication that mobile content is forcing its way into the conciousness of licensors…
In this case it was already known that mobile content rights are bringing in “tens of millions” of dollars worldwide, but its the kind of clause we’re going to see in other situations. I also think it means that Reuters’ mobile efforts have different photos than their web efforts.
