This is a real leg up for Walt Disney Internet Group in India. After a recent deal with Bharti Airtel, the company is tying up with Reliance Communications to provide mobile content. Which means Disney will have access to some 37 million customers of Bharti and Reliance put together. The icing on the cake is that Disney will be providing “India’s first 3D animation” on mobile. An official announcement on the tie-up is expected today.
There will be Disney animated video shorts, including 3D ones, exclusively made for mobile devices and featuring Disney characters. The other content includes wallpapers, ring-tones, games or comic strips from Disney Zone, created on Reliance Mobile World. Downloads are expected to be priced at – Rs 5 for wallpapers, Rs.10 for video shorts downloads, Rs 5 for animations and Rs 10 for ring-tones on Disney Zone. Games will be charged at Rs.5 per session.
