MicroOptical, a Westwood, MA-based startup in the portable displaye field, has got an $11.5 million round of funding…The funding came from Atlas Venture, The Hillman Company, Intel Capital, and Turner Broadcasting.
It will use the investment to add new, stylish improvements to its myvu video eyewear, which gives users a large-screen view of video content meant for small screens on portable devices.
The eyewear comes with a simple AV connector cable and a battery power pack that fit into a pouch along with the portable device. It also comes with built-in earbuds.
A review of the service is here, in this AP story. Some more details on the funding in this release here.
