Google To Pay Adobe For Toolbar Distribution

Does Google have an EVP of ubiquity? In its latest deal, Google will pay Adobe a “significant amount” for several years to distribute its web software. Adobe is distributing the Google Toolbar with its Macromedia Shockwave Player downloads. In other words, Google, which once was content to share ad revenue in exchange for traffic, is buying distribution — and usage — outright. One suggestion: it’s pre-Vista prep as Google faces the default MSN search settings that could cut away at its dominance.
Rafat: Adobe did a similar deal with Yahoo in 2003…I’m assuming this is more money for Adobe, one of the reasons of the switch.
