NetPickle, Inc., the parent company of start-up photo site RockYou.com, has raised $1.5 million in a round led by Sequoia Capital; Lightspeed Venture Partners also took part. The Silicon Valley VC firm adds netPickle to its Web 2.0-heavy internet roster. (First in VentureWire, sub. req.; via SiliconBeat.) Sequoia already has viral video investments — YouTube and Atom Entertainment; the small East Palo Alto start-up appears to be it for photos. Lance Tokuda, previously listed as CTO of Iconix, is the president of netPickle.
