Some industry moves of note:
– Bill Hilary moves to the newly created position of president, Magna Global Entertainment from president and CEO of BBC America. In addition to developing custom branded programming for clients, he will oversee international sales and “develop new opportunities in the emerging media and digital arena.” Hilary, a former BBC TV exec, was EVP/GM of Comedy Central before he joined BBCA.
— TheStreet.com has made couple of new hires: Alexander Spinelli will be the new CTO and Craig Calder will serve as Senior VP of Marketing. Calder: Most recently he served in senior online sales and marketing roles at Doubleclick, New York Times Digital, and Nickelodeon Online.
— Salon.com has hired a new publisher: Chris Neimeth has been named Senior VP and Publisher of Salon Media Group. Neimeth joins Salon from InterActive, where he most recently served as President, IAC Partner Marketing, the ad sales and partner marketing group for many IAC properties. Before IAC, he served as Executive VP, National Sales of Ticketmaster.
— NBC Universal Television Stations is tapping David Shenfeld, a former executive producer of Fox’s WNYW New York’s morning show, to be the top producer for iVillage Live, a new daytime program that will air on NBC O&Os and stream on recently acquired women’s Website iVillage.com.
