This is an interesting story we’ve been following closely…while sports rights have suffered in value in recent years, mainly due to financial problems at pay-TV operators around the world, the UK Premier League footbal franchise has consistently grown in value. So you would have though mobile would be the same, but as this story says exclusive mobile video/clips rights are not that lucrative anymore, as scores and other real time simulation become generic.
BSkyB is expected to battle against TWI, the west London-based sports production group (owner of IMG)…That contract will terminate at the end of the 2006/7 season and a week ago the Premier League started looking for buyers for the next licence…the price tag for the mobile phone rights is likely to be only around
