A story in MarketWatch is looking at the difference in mobile phone use between genders, although the biggest difference is in how much they talk — men talk for 546 minutes per month while women talk about 470 minutes, although with men it’s mostly business. “Men of all ages are more likely to use browsers to obtain sports scores and other timely news, as well as to download games, said Jaimee Minney, spokeswoman for M:Metrics, a research firm that measures mobile content and applications. Of the 4.46 million people who downloaded games in April, 57% were male, according to M:Metrics research…In the Cingular survey, 51% of women said they used their cell’s camera feature “frequently or occasionally,” and 40% of men use the function as often…A similar study released in the fall by LetsTalk.com also found that women are more enthusiastic about using a cell-phone camera, especially in the 18- to 34-year-old age group. Women in that age group also had a greater interest in a phone’s music players and e-mail functions than men in the demographic.”
