From completely banning 3G in Cambodia to the “light touch” approach of Singapore, Asian governments are attempting to stop their citizens viewing mobile pornography. They’re not alone in this, of course, pretty much every country on the planet has introduced legislation concerning adult content or are following industry “codes of conduct” in a bid to head off government regulation…
Ray Owen, director of wireless broadband at Motorola Asia-Pacific, said it was possible to restrict access to adult content through filters and IP blocking and so on, but with internet-enabled phones it’s almost impossible to get everything.
