Amp’d Mobile has signed a retail deal (I think its first) to sell its services through Best Buy. “Beginning this summer, Best Buy stores nationwide will begin selling Amp’d Mobile’s products, which consist of comprehensive entertainment and messaging services delivered on broadband mobile phones.” I’m assuming they sell the handsets and phone contracts rather than the actual entertainment deals. It’s difficult to get shelf space at a big retailer, which is important in the US where a significant percentage of the population buys their mobile service through retail outlets. It should provide a much-needed boost to Amp’d’s subscriber numbers…
