The Future of TV in Canada in Digital Age

A detailed PDF report released by the Banff World Television Festival (held last week in Canada) about the future of TV in Canada and how it is being affected by the digital age. “The framing of the debate over the future of television should start with a discussion of the impact technology is having on television and its content. Central to this debate is the question about how to develop appropriate terms of trade that facilitate the development of IP assets and encourage broadcasters to invest in new content applications. Another broad subject area is the extent to which Canadian content producers should shift toward the international markets as a matter of survival, although they would possibly lose some Canadian distinctiveness.”
