Oddcast’s Talking Avatars Gets $4 Million in Funding

Oddcast, among the oldest avatar-technology companies around, has received $4 million in fourth round funding…Union Square Ventures led the funding and Itochu, one of Japan’s big trading companies and an existing shareholder, also participated in the round. The money will be used for company’s “expansion into the consumer and mobile markets and secure its leadership position in the B2B market sector”.
The company’s clients include Coca-Cola, CBS, ESPN, ICQ and McDonalds. USQ explains the rational of their funding here in their blog.
