Internet Ad Estimate For 2006 Upped; 13 Percent Increase Projected

TNS Media Intelligence has revised upward its original projection of 9.1 percent internet ad spending growth for 2006. The new forecast: an increase of 13 percent excluding search. At this rate, internet growth would outpace spending on Hispanic TV slightly for the title of fastest-growing ad segment. Steve Frefdericks, president and CEO of TNS, told ClickZ: “I think increased use of the Internet is taking away dollars from traditional media, notably areas like B2B magazines and local newspapers. It’s not surprising to us. We see an increase [on the Internet] that continues to grow into double digits.”
