Vietnam may record 50 percent growth a year for the next five years in its digital content industry, which will make it a $400 million business in 2010. According to a draft plan mapped out by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications on developing the industry, Vietnam will train 30,000 staff specializing in digital content such as online games, downloadable music and video clips, multimedia messages, ring-tones and wallpapers during 2006-2010. The domestic electronic game market alone is expected to generate revenues of $10-15 million in 2006. Mobile content business generated revenues of $94.3 million in 2005. Vietnam is expected to have 36 million mobile phone subscribers by 2010, up from over 11 million currently. There are some 10,000 people working in the domestic digital content industry.
