There is a change of gaurd at The Financial Express, the financial daily from The Indian Express Group. Sandipan Deb, who has been in charge of the to-be-launched magazine business of the group, has been given a meaty role. He will now edit The Financial Express (FE). The current editor Mythili Bhusnurmath will step aside to don a consulting role. Deb had moved to The Indian Express group last year from Outlook magazine where he was the managing editor. The Express group is believed to be going slow on its magazine plans. Deb’s role is going to be challenging since Hindustan Times is launching a business newspaper and it has hired former Wall Street Journal Europe Editor Raju Narisetti as the editor. Currently, besides FE, there are three other major financial dailies such as The Economic Times, Business Standard, and The Hindu Business Line.
