The Director of Network Services at Turner is responsible for overseeing and giving leadership to the network group supporting Internet Operations. The group is responsible for all network design, implementation, deployment, performance management and security for internet operations and infrastructure. This organization will support any and all network traffic supporting the .com businesses within CNN and Turner including CNN Newsgroup, TNT, Cartoon Network, Turner South, TCM, TBS and The Atlanta Braves.
Principle Responsibilities:
— Provides senior technical leadership to Internet Technologies and the internet enterprise including being conversant with the future direction of internet systems, how the direction will impact the enterprise, and how the future and current networks can be exploited and beneficial to Internet Operations.
— Serves as a source of collaborating with other groups to set standards and document the activities of the network.
— Oversee the activities or the Internet Operation’s network management and physical infrastructure
— Ability to lead and coordinate other in procurement, management of solutions based on enterprise network technologies and the design of a 7×24 operational environment.
— Manage the personnel of the Network group’s daily and future activity
— Provide effective resource management in support of business units
— Manage department budget for network services
Requirements:
— BS or BA degree in computer science or related field
— 5-10 years experience in managing network systems
— Detailed knowledge of enterprise network topology
— Assist in project planning with the PMO office
— Excellent interpersonal skills
— Ability to provide long range goals and network architecture
— Execute network projects on time and on budget
— Support application development groups in design, implementation and deployment
— Formulate business case for network investments
— Experience implementing and/or managing CISCO deployments
— Excellent interpersonal skills
— Ability to manage the growth and career paths of his/her organization
— Collaborate projects and future design with Corporate Network Systems
— Unix, CISCO Pix, and firewall experience necessary. Knowledge of Security Firewalls, and experience with at least 3 or more of the following security elements; Intrusion Detection, VPN, Secure Shell, Networking, Network Infrastructure, Remedy Trouble Ticketing, Security Software, Checkpoint, Nokia, Dragon, Snort, Cisco, ISS Real Secure, NetScreen, NOC, Networking.
