CBS Radio Launches Mobile Marketing/Texting Program

Well, finally…though some radio stations in U.S. have been doing mobile marketing and other interactive applications, this is probably among the biggest yet: CBS Radio, the second-largest radio conglomerate here, announced a 41-station text-messaging deal with Vibes Media, to develop listening/marketing programs.
One simple example: Radio stations can hold listener text-messaging contests as part of their ad clients’ campaigns.
Reuters: In addition to customizing promotions, stations will also be able to use the platform to inform listeners of things like upcoming artist interviews or when a major concert announcement is about to be made on the air.
