Business Standard: It’s a sign of the growing maturity of Indian newspaper business. Indian newspaper moguls are not averse to mergers and acquisitions now. Here is a report that Pioneer is up for sale and that Kanpur-based Jagran and a few others are talking to the small multi-edition newspaper promoted by journalist Chandan Mitra. It will be the second newspaper in the last one month bracing up for being acquired.
Earier, there was talk of Karanataka-based newspaper group Vijay Times in advanced stage of negotiations with the Time of India group for selling out.
