The number of mobile phone users throughout Asia is expected to grow by 22% in 2006 to almost one billion subscribers by the end of the year. That includes 100 million Japanese users, but much of the growth is expected to come from India and Indonesia and to be prepaid users, who are less likely to use expensive mobile content services.
