Verizon to Revamp Its Content Service “Get It Now”, Amidst Slowdown Concerns

During Qualcomm’s Brew conference earlier this week, Verizon CMO John Stratton announced that it will revamp its mobile content service “Get It Now“…he said that although Verizon has 27.1 million active data users, which accounts for over 50 percent of its base, the company is concerned that its download growth may be slowing.
He said there are several factors, including a crowded deck and content that is stored in silos. VZW will also start selling content applications with pre-loaded retail cards, at its 1,800 company-owned stores.
Also, something which will help off-portal content: it will unch of BREW Zone, a move that will allow Verizon to sell its content off portal through the website and through other approved, off-portal sites.
