The smartphone can be used as a remote to control home digital video recorders, according to the company.” From an OS point of view, this is simply adding capacity for the system to work on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition version 5.0, so now it works on all MS systems. More interesting is the fact it works on any network-enabled phone, which indicates that (at least for now) Slingbox has gotten around the issue of carrier antipathy…
