BREW Applications Generate $700 Million In Revenues Since Launch

Qualcomm announced that the entire BREW wireless value chain – including publishers and developers – have earned more than $700 million from the sale of BREW applications and services since it was launched in November 2001. In the last one year alone, the revenues earned from BREW applications have amounted to $350 million, equalling the preceding four years’ total intake of $350 million, the company says. According to M:Metrics, approximately 44.2 million subscribers in the United States had access to BREW handsets in March 2006. It has deployments with operators in 31 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. [Via Release]
