The Economic Times: Chennai-based Pyramid Saimira said that it will invest Rs 350 crore to set up the country’s largest digital theatre chain. It plans to have more than 2000 screens, by 2010. They aim to add one screen daily in the Mumbai-Goa circle and in the North. The idea is to lease theatres for a period of 15 years. The company will maintain a digital library of high and low value films, which would help play any type of content in any theatre in the chain depending on the demand of movie goers. Pyramid hopes to lease its first screen in Mumbai by the third quarter of this year.
