Premium TV provider Multichoice, which began DVB-H mobile TV trials in South Africa in August last year, has extended it to Pretoria, Soweto, Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, for the upcoming World Cup. The trial will allow those with a DVB-H-enabled Sagem phone (the only enabled phone currently on the South African market) to watch the 2006 soccer world cup action, live and free of charge. SA is the host of the 2010 football World Cup.
Vodacom, SABC and Sentech are the three mobile oprators involvedin the trial.
