Rights. Very confusing, according to a lawyer. Specialist telecomms and tech media lawyer Ingrid Silver of Denton Wilde Sapte said the traditional business model of content rights is having to be rewritten. Rights are often defined by medium, but technology is developing so fast that rights agreements have to keep being adjusted. Between them the panel suggested a package of rights to cover a window for live transmission across all platforms, and also suggested that web broadcasting could facilitate new kinds of global rights deals.
