Graeme Ferguson, director of global content development at Vodafone, has said at the Seoul Digital Forum 2006 that Vodafone “saw a 55% subscription rate for the mobile TV service among new retail customers in certain markets. He didn’t elaborate…He said consumer demand for the mobile TV service comes from interest in entertainment and information, and subscribers focus more on programming content than on the TV channel.”
He also said that Vodafone was looking to Korean companies for mobile applications, but not for content as “content doesn’t transfer” to European markets…if that changes though, Vodafone will jump right in…
