Key Duties/Responsibilities
— Manage and facilitate the transfer of content through electronic content processing systems to content partners; ensure delivered information is accurate, timely and consistent per contractual requirements
— Participate as a key strategic team member in a significant new content management audit and upgrade project
— Gain an expert-level understanding of how the organization currently develops and distributes content
— Document content format structure and answer any format/delivery questions
— Troubleshoot and resolve service concerns in the event of delivery delays, file/feed issues, etc.; maintain issue log and track resolutions
— Develop and maintain successful relationships with content delivery partners; communicate changes and maintenance advisories to appropriate parties
— Participate in the research and development of new technologies and procedures
— Work with closely with Licensing, Editorial and Marketing departments
Required Skills:
— Minimum 4-6 years experience in working with electronic content and content technologies in a production environment
— Knowledge and experience in implementation of content authoring, management, and workflow solutions for structured and unstructured content and of multiple data sources, formats, etc.
— Working knowledge of technologies used for content delivery and retrieval
— Detailed knowledge of data exchange and data conversion formats and technologies including: XML, HTML, ASCII, PDF, etc.; development of XML Schemas and/or DTDs; as well as varied content delivery methods
— Excellent project management skills and ability to develop and drive schedules; ability to work successfully within a deadline-oriented environment as this a production position
— Attention to detail, style, format, consistency and quality
— Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to client service; ability to collaborate with senior business leaders, other IT teams, and external vendors at all levels
— Experience with problem solving in a client-vendor environment; ability to project a professional corporate image to vendors and to the public
— Positive attitude, ability to work effectively and creatively in an entrepreneurial environment; flexible approach to problem-solving; independent.
— Solid organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
— Bachelors degree required; ultimate candidate will have an MLS with a tech background/experience
— Experience with conversion processes, including at least a detailed understanding of
— Familiarity with article indexing, categorization, entity extraction and abstracting/excerpting/summarization
— Experience in the publishing industry and newspaper production technology a plus.
