Mobile Music Market To Be Worth $7.75 Billion By 2010

According to a study by eMarketer, the global retail market for full-track downloads and master ringtones will be worth $7.75 billion in revenue by 2010. This will be about 65% of worldwide digital music sales. The study titled, Mobile Music: The New Marketing Challenge, also found that consumers may be willing to pay $2-3 for near-CD quality, full-track downloads directly to a phone. This means for mobile carriers, music will become the “first non-voice, high bandwidth service where there is a demonstrable willingness-to-pay on the part of consumers”. [More here]
