Job Description/Primary Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for market research and analysis of business opportunities with the primary focus on content opportunities. The individual will negotiate and draft contracts, manage business relationships and maintain contract databases for Audible’s content asset. Secondary focus will be on an assigned project-by-project basis to provide business affairs support to appropriate personnel across various Audible business units (marketing, business development, platform technology). This individual will work closely with Audible’s Legal and Finance Departments and will report to the EVP, Programming & Business Affairs. Success requires the highest degree of professionalism and analytical, written and verbal communication skills in order that the Business Affairs/Development Department effectively services the wider organization in our efforts to achieve our stated corporate goals.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position has:
— A JD or MBA with 1-2 years of experience working in a law firm or the business affairs department of a media company.
—- Knowledge of the media industry, with an emphasis on new media, from content and technology perspectives.
— Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, analytical, creative problem solving and conflict management skills.
— Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
— A self motivated and independent style of working.
— A positive, can-do attitude and entrepreneurial approach to the workday.
— Comfortable working in a fluid, fast-paced and cross-functional team environment to drive demonstrable results.
