Vpod.tv, a Paris and Madrid based online video sharing site, has received $5.1 million in funding. The round was led by Innovacom, the French VC firm. Besides features simialr to what other video sharing sites have, Vpod includes the ability to integrate advertising in videos, a wide variety of output/device formats, and editing tools. Also, the service seems to have a more editorial focus in terms of videos on the site.
The site’s main focus is Europe, so probably has a chance in the still relatively uncrowded field there. TechCrunch has a lot more on the details of the service, here.
