Oxford University Press: Director of Electronic Rights, NYC

The Director of Electronic Rights is responsible for generating new electronic rights sales for the Rights Department for Oxford University Press-USA with performance objectives and incentive plan upon net revenue. The Director of Electronic Rights will be securing new client accounts in both North and South America, parlaying Oxford US and Oxford UK copyrights to defined business segments and channels.
Responsibilities/Duties:
* Electronic Licensing – Working with the Director of Rights – Americas, the Director of Electronic Rights will outline the business channels to license to, and then create a tactical plan for achieving targeted revenue goals.
* Licensing Focus – The Director of Electronic Rights will be working targeted business channels such as mobile, portal, online library and software disciplines to cultivate and close new business.
* Latin and South American Licensing Development – Since the US Electronic licensing program is expanding its geographic territory to include Latin and South American areas, the Director of Electronic Rights will work with the Director of Rights – Americas to develop a strategy to license to these new geographic territories.
* Digital Media Education – In order to sell perspective electronic licensing partners, the Electronic Rights Specialist will need to maintain keen understanding of the ever-evolving digital media landscape, devoting time to reading up on industry trends, attending technology conferences, and conversing with industry pundits.
* General Oxford and Industry Participation – In an as-needed basis, this position includes participation in Oxford departmental and corporate committees, as well as participation in industry events such as the Association of American Publishers (AAP).
* Miscellaneous – The Director of Electronic Rights will work on a variety of initiatives that the Publishers, Vice President and President create.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5-7 years’ experiences in publishing, sales, and/or business development role in an e-centric business setting.
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in related area
* Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
