Google Finance Was Developed In Its Bangalore Development Centre

Here is a podcast session with two Indian Google product managers at the TiEcon 2006 recently held in Santa Clara, California. Google India’s Nayan Patel, and Prasenjit Phukan from Google HQ in Moutain View spoke about Google’s active interest in India as a market and as a fertile ground for talent.
I listened to the podcast, and got this bit of news: Google Finance was completely developed out of the search giant’s Indian development center in Bangalore. That’s interesting. My guess is that Krishna Bharat, the brain behind Google News, could be behind this achievement too. Bharat moved out of Bangalore (he was heading the development centre) only a few months back.
The other thing they said was that Google India is hiring aggressively. They are looking for product managers and good engineers. “Google is all about innovation,” the duo said. You can see the Google India jobs here.
