PE Week Wire reports, quoting a regulatory filing, that 3jam Inc., a Menlo Park, Calif.-based text messaging startup, has secured $500,000 of a $1 million Series A commitment from New Enterprise Associates.
About 3jam from its blog: “3jam was created by Andy Jagoe and Enlai Chu because they were frustrated by not being able to do the things they wanted to do with text messages. Like easily send them to a group of people, have everyone in the group know who else got the message and be able to reply to everyone else. Basic things that enable real conversations. Basic things that you can’t do on cell phones today.”
