TV’s Unbundling: 80 Percent Of Teens Can’t Name TV Nets

I would not read too much into the details of this survey (which is done by a media company pushing their own site as an ad vehicle), but one point sticks out and might become a bigger trend down the line: When asked to name the top four TV networks, 4 out of every 5 people ages 16-18 could not name all four of the networks. This points to the possible growth of show-only franchises, distributed through digital outlets like the show websites or iTunes etc. The Best Week Ever example I wrote about earlier also fits into that show-as-a-franchise genre.
