Amp’d Mobile Falls Short Of Promise

This is a review of the Amp’d service by someone who clearly wasn’t impressed — the big issues being the cost and the phone not telling him what he was watching or listening to. “In tests with the Amp’d Hollywood phone (a Motorola e816), connection times lagged behind other video-rich phones, certain channels would not open, there was frequent buffering during playback and I never knew exactly what I was watching.”
There’s always a few glitches with the launch of a new service, but Amp’d doesn’t have much leeway to get things right…
