Ballmer: “No Overnight Transformation” For MSFT Search Advertising

A continent away from Terry Semel’s breakfast chat, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer told folks at the Churchill Club he doesn’t expect instant results from the company’s new ad network: “I don’t think you will see some overnight transformation. It is going to have to be longer term. It makes sense for us to talk about five years.” He later said patience is what distinguishes Microsoft from many tech companies.
