TheKnot, the online wedding and after resource and media company, has reported Q1 earnings: its profits came in at $1.7 million,versus a prior-year profit of $409,000. Revenues rose 24 percent to $14.8 million from $11.9 million in the year earlier period. Revenue from national and local online advertising rose 35 percent, while publishing and other revenue climbed 38 percent. Merchandising revenue declined 7 percent.
The company’s litigation with WeddingChannel.com continues, and it recorded $180,000 in legal fees related to it, compared to $683,000 for the comparable period in 2005.
